Cho phần nước cốt me vào cá và đảo cho thấm đều, cho thêm xíu nước, đường và gia vị vừa ăn, nấu cho đến khi thấm gia vị và nước đặc sệt lại thì cho phần hành lá lên trên.
Múc cá ra đĩa và thưởng thức. Đặc biệt khi ăn kèm với cơm nóng vào những ngày trời se lạnh thì không gì tuyệt vời bằng.
